A fight to the death...

A fight to the death

"I'm fed up, it's pointless, I'm not doing it anymore. Then we'll just lose clients, so be it..."

AI is also turning my own entrepreneurial world completely upside down: my clients hardly need the personal intensive help anymore to grow and develop their business and brand with the creation of videos, articles, photos, illustrations, brochures, banners, trade show stands, etc. And besides that, it's no longer profitable to comply with copyright and compliance rules for visual material. All of it has become obsolete...

For years, a client from the financial sector would ask: "Can you write and publish a few short articles for the website and LinkedIn?" And to be honest, I'm not a born ghostwriter, but I always did it to help the client further. And fortunately that worked well and I kept getting better at it.

This client from the financial sector likes to stay under the radar, not showing too much about their strategies and approach so as not to give their competition too much information, but meanwhile they do want to publish about their successes. And they want to communicate to prospects why they're a good alternative compared to their colleagues. This client doesn't have super writing talents in-house, but they do want content to send to prospects. And to show on LinkedIn that their organization is thriving.

And now? I no longer get requests from this client for articles and content. In 2025, the client is in turbo mode and creates content themselves; with AI, everyone is now a copywriter, image creator, presentation and PowerPoint pitch specialist, has all client profiles ready and up-to-date. Efficiently and with endless patience, the AI agent does its work at my client's too.

10 iterations in the presentation? No problem, we'll just do it quickly... Wrong assumptions? Not a big deal, we'll just have the AI agent redo the analysis, more accurately and with fewer errors. And 3 variants...

Great, that efficiency gain, but meanwhile I see the stress at this financial client rising significantly: "Oh shit, our clients are also in turbo mode, and through AI they know our competitors better than ever and... oh no, they've even seen that there are alternative ways of investing that deliver higher returns as standard... We need to quickly convince our prospects that those alternatives are inferior, but help, what becomes our story?"

Actually, the client is losing their identity, trying to hold their ground in a landscape where competitors are emerging from new angles. They're being overwhelmed and are also trying to outsmart the new competitors.

I see that they lack persuasive power in their publications; weaving persuasion techniques into your publications isn't that easy. And their publications together do not really help to support their brand positioning, it are just random items in the customer journey. They really don't have a clue about that. Moreover, they're far too busy to keep up with the pace...

And due to the high pace, the company is no longer able to slow down; it keeps drifting further away from their core competencies, their competitive ability, their identity and their distinctiveness. So what remains? Selling interchangeable products and services that compete on price. A fight to the death follows...

Imagine if you did slow down for a moment? What would it be like if space emerged to establish your own hidden advantage more firmly and claim your market position better, preventing you from becoming an interchangeable supplier? What if that now becomes your competitive advantage, making you seen as a strategic business partner?
